Has someone else sabotaged your success?

21 Feb Has someone else sabotaged your success?

In order to move forward toward ultimate success, you need to first take responsibility for where you are in life today. We are right where we are supposed to be in life, based on the choices and our reaction to the results of those choices we have made up to this point in time. Think about that for a moment. Here is an example: In school you chose to do well or not. You choose to go to college or not. You accepted the job you are working. You choose to do well on that job or not. You choose to stay on that job or not. Everything you have or do not have in life is based on the choices made or not made.

If you consider a graduating class of high school or college students and look at their level of success ten years later, what do you think you will see? You are right, about ten percent of them will have had great success while the rest have had mediocre success or minimal success. So why are some people successful and others not? One reason is the successful people take responsibility for their choices, learn from them and move forward with better choices. The key here is theses successful people take responsibility for your choices. They don’t blame their parents, their spouse, their boss, their childhood upbringing. You get the idea! They take responsibility, learn from the experience and move forward with better choices.

The beauty of this for you is success can still happen in your future. If you are where you are today based on the choices made up to this point, you can make a choice today that will put you in a different place tomorrow. One way to make better choices is to seek the counsel of others. Second, surround yourself with people that are more successful than you are. This allows you to gain their wisdom, see what they do and how they respond to life to create success. If you want what someone else has, you need to do what they do.

There are many others strategies successful people utilize to create huge success. We will discuss those strategies in future blogs. Now, go out and change your choices so you can change your life.
